Description

Science on Tap: Beer-ology 101
Thursday, June 26 from 7-9pm at the Maryland Science Center

The Maryland Science Center’s popular science of adult beverages series focuses on beer in June with Nick Fertig and Dan Baumiller, Co-Owners of Full Tilt Brewing. The presentation will explore the brewing process with a specific focus on the role of hops. Learn about the characteristics of different enzymes during the brewing process and how temperature plays a key role. The general topic of beer will also be covered as we delve into the expansion and growth of local craft brewing. Interactive components of the event include beer sampling and a chance to work with raw ingredients.

Science On Tap is designed to be a fun, informative and social evening that is as appealing to novice beer aficionados as it is for experienced connoisseurs. The evening includes sampling of various Full Tilt Brewing specialties including Berger Cookie Chocolate Stout, Fleet Street Raspberry Wheat, Baltimore Pale Ale, and Camden Cream.

Tickets are $45 per person ($40 for members) and are all inclusive for the Beer-ology presentation, food, drinks, and a chance to mingle with the presenters.

About Full Tilt Brewing

In this time of exploding craft brewing around the country, Nick Fertig and Dan Baumiller believed they needed to stand out in the crowd. No shortcuts. No easy way outs. When they brew, they brew with the best ingredients, the best equipment, and complete devotion to making the best beer they possibly can. Their passion did not arise over night. It fermented for years into what is now known as Full Tilt Brewing.

Full Tilt Brewing was founded in 2008 and is located in Peabody Heights Brewery in Baltimore, MD and owned by cousins, Fertig and Baumiller. The brews are available in Maryland, Washington DC, northern Virginia, and select regions of Pennsylvania. From seasonal selections to year round brews, Full Tilt’s signatures include Baltimore Pale Ale, Fleet Street Raspberry Wheat, Patterson Pumpkin, Berger Cookie Chocolate Stout, and their newest addition to the Baltimore themed line up, Camden Cream.
